They commemorated the end of the semester with laughter, food, and the release of the trailer Parsons Scholars Program video directed by Youth Advocate alumni Shola Ajayi. The trailer highlighted the Parsons Scholars community and featured scholars sharing how the program has impacted them. The festive gathering also included prizes and group games.
Mentors and advocates alike brought their skills together to make reunion 2018 a celebration to remember. Entrepreneur and current mentor Allison Esannason of Smiley’s Cheesecakes brought delicious cake for everyone to share. Alumni advocate, architect and rapper Nicolas Savvides, hosted the event alongside mentor and DJ Tiama Wilson. Current mentor Dirm Luawo, used his design skills to support the documentation of reunion on social media and Tatiana Glover used her background in communication to ensure guests stayed connected with upcoming events. Meanwhile current mentors Jeanette, Kadeem, and Wendy created a sparkly fun photo booth to capture memorable photos.
Everyone was enthused to see scholars, mentors, and advocates both past and present enjoying themselves. Current Youth Advocate Kevin Cadena had a holiday surprise of his own, gifting the program with two notable books to exist in the PSP library. We enjoyed closing the year with the PSP network and wish everyone the best as they continue their pursuits in 2019!
