The Parsons Scholars Program provides youth from under-represented backgrounds the opportunity to explore art & design in a college environment.

Accepted students receive college credit while preparing for the college admissions process at no cost to them. (Note: this is a pre-college scholarship, and not a college scholarship.) For more information, download our information sheet here.

The Parsons Scholars Program is a college access program for NYC public high school students who are passionate about pursuing higher education in art and design. Parsons Scholars dedicate their Saturdays and summers to studio coursework and workshops which expose them to a range of exciting art and design careers and majors.

Design & Human Experience with Ari Melenciano

In foundation drawing and design classes sophomore scholars began putting the finishing touches on their artwork in preparation for Open Studios next week. In the afternoon, Brooklyn based interdisciplinary artist, Ari Melenciano, whose work centers the relationship between design and human experience visited the sophomores and presented her work. Scholars prepared questions for the artist in response to their work and took notes on how the presentation was structured as they prepared to give their own artist talk at the Parent Presentation after Open Studios.
