Elizabeth Peralta, Foundation

ElizabethElizabeth is a Parsons foundation student who plans on pursuing a degree at Parsons. She enjoys many different forms of art, but is most passionate about creating clothing and plans on becoming a fashion designer. Before starting at Parsons, she participated in Fashion with a Purpose, Harlem Children’s Zone, Photography Club and has taken a class in the History of Costume. Elizabeth has worked on the staff of the Summer Youth Employment Program, has interned for the brand Pantora by Andrea Pitter, and was awarded a scholarship to attend the Parsons Summer Intensive Program in Paris in her junior year due to her exceptional participation as a Scholar. In her words, “I have been exposed to a new group of people from different backgrounds that have different skills and interests in art. I might have never been to places such as Storm king, the Whitney museum, or Paris if it wasn’t for the Parsons Program… I really have enjoyed this program. Every single teacher and staff member that I have met has been really helpful… I have learned many useful skills in many diverse fields of art. These skills have been very helpful and applicable to everything I have done.” Of her long term goals, she says, “I want to become a well rounded artist. I want to learn more about other forms of art more in depth. I am also hoping to work with many people who are also as passionate about art as I am.”
